The Coins are Counted

July 16, 2008

On a nice boring day while the kids were in exams, I finally got around to counting up all the coins in the bottle. Laid em all out nice and tidy on the table top to count them later. The vice principal came in while I was doing it, and is probably now questioning the worth of keeping on foreigners during down times.

At any rate, the number of coins in the bottle came out to be a grand total of 751. Personally, I had guessed 780, and the average of all guesses I got was 1,158 (excluding the girl who guessed 10,000, because really, that’s just crazy).

Nobody got it spot on, but the closest guess was 750, followed by 746, 745, and 720.

So, that was fun. Now I have to figure out what to buy the kid who got 750, and what to do with seven hundred and fifty one one-yen coins.

Also, I am now up to date! I’ve managed to replace all the old posts I had, so go on, have a wander through some of the older stuff 😉
